Day Ten

Sunday - Day Ten

So as I mentioned before, our cleanse schedule is a little disjointed based because of a mix up when we placed our order.

Since we ran out of our cleanse drink yesterday we made today another shake day.

I am LOVING the chocolate shake. I wanted to lick the inside of the blender pitcher. So good!

We had church this morning and we had to be there at 7:30 to serve. I am one of the team leads for our Coffee ministry. SO I have to stay outside during the service and make sure everything is as it should be. Today was a VERY eventful service. Let's just say in ended up in me running (literally) to Denny's trying to chase down a woman to give her a free Bible. She was no where to be seen. But hey, God knows where she is.

I had more than enough energy to get through those few hours of craziness.
After church we went to lunch at Rubios and I got their street tacos plate. MY FAVORITE!

After that I felt like I was going to literally fall asleep in my chair. Caleb helped me up. We walked to World Market which was right around the corner and got some stuff for tomorrow's BBQ. We're still going to keep it healthy, but World Market is the only place I have seen Mint KitKats ... in years. No one believes me when I say they exist. But they do and I bought proof. ;)

Ok... SO my last day is technically tomorrow... BUT I took a before and after picture to see my progress. Aside from the scale and measuring tape, it's hard to notice the little differences because I see myself every day.  So here is my picture. I'm a work in progress, but this is definitely progress. I fully plan on continuing to buy the shakes and cleanse drinks and add them to my daily routine. Maybe I will keep replacing breakfast with the shake and I will have a glass of cleanse juice with my dinner.  And every now and then I will do another 9 day. Just to keep my body in check.

One thing I love about Isagnenix and it's perfectly planned cleanse system is that its NOT just a colon cleanse where you lose a bunch of water weight and then gain it all back. I am ridding my body of toxins. And then filling it with the nutrients it needs. That is why they break up the cleanse days with shake days. The cleanse days are the "deep cleaning" days so to speak. And they don't advise you to do more than two in a row. And then the shake days are for maintaining nutrition and allowing your body to recover between cleanse days.
The shakes are packed full of vitamins and minerals and protein. This isn't a fruit/fiber cleanse. It's a system that sets you up for success.

For me, it has changed the way I think about food. It has changed my mentality of hunger. It has reminded me that I don't need coffee and soda and sugar to keep going throughout the day. When you are taking in the things your body needs, it will thank you... by running properly and looking good!

It's blurry cause its from my phone.

Day Nine

Saturday - Day 9

Normally today would be another shake day - but with Memorial day being on Monday, Caleb wanted to cleanse early so he could be done in time to enjoy our barbecue. Since I think this whole thing works best when we are on the same schedule, I decided to switch as well.

SO - this morning was supposed to be the first of our last two cleanse days.
HOWEVER, when we signed up, we split a 30 day cleanse because its cheaper than ordering two 9 days. BUT,  our consultant forgot to order an extra container of the cleanse powder (which is needed for 2 people to have 4 cleanse days). When we realized this, our consultant was quick to order us another one last week. I figured we would have it by today, but when I checked the mail it still hadn't come. :/ Yikes.

Here is our plan. We cleanse today, do a shake day tomorrow, enjoy memorial day - when our cleanse finally gets here, I will do another cleanse day. Gotta do what you gotta do!

This morning I was down another pound. Which brings me to a total of 7 pounds lost in one week. Woo hoo!
We have been drinking our cleanse drink and trying to stay busy.
Caleb is napping because it helps not to realize hunger. :)

Tomorrow we get lunch again!

Day Eight

Friday – Day eight

Oh my! Just a few more days of this! I don’t know if I am ready to stop yet.

This morning I woke up at 4am to drive a friend to the airport. Got back home around 5:45 and went back to bed for another hour. Woke up, Isa flush did its thing again! Stepped on the scale and I was down a pound. For the last few days I fluctuated. I would go down .5 pounds and then back up. I lost an inch around my waste, but nothing else that I could tell.  But this morning was a successful drop. I think taking protein before bed was helpful, also sticking to my calorie limit for lunch.

.... I had a short break for lunch today because I got off work at 3pm. I rushed to Panera to meet Caleb, literally stuffed 1/2 a bbq salad (dressing on the side) down my throat and rushed back to work. It was good though! Every second of that salad. YUM!

I got off work early so I picked up some cleaning supplies from Target and went on a cleaning spree. I deep cleaned our entire apartment.

Around 8pm I had my dinner shake. I had a friend over who wanted to sign up for Isagenix, so I let her taste my shake. She was sold. She bought a 9 day right then and there. :)

Had another piece of the lemon crunch bar before falling asleep. Slept like a baby.

Day Seven

(this was supposed to be dated Thursday, May 24, 2012)

The next day was Thursday- Day Seven – and let’s just say, the extra water intake paired with Isaflush made for successful bodily function issues! So if you are doing the cleanse, and you are feeling stopped up… drink extra water and take a couple Isaflushes before you go to bed.

I realized I like Chocolate shakes the best. I just do. It’s the woman side of me. So I have been having chocolate shakes for my shake meals.

For lunch I had Chipotle again. I got a bowl with minimal black beans, chicken, lettuce, guacamole and cheese. It was less than 600 calories so that made for a successful lunch option!

I had my shake around 7pm, went to a friend’s house, got home and was SUPER hungry. Instead of going to bed hungry, I went through my sample box Isa sent me, and found the lemon crunch bar that is high in protein. I broke off a little piece and ate it to calm my hunger pains. Slept like a baby. J I think it’s good to have a little protein before bed. I could feel it working around in my stomach. Something was going on!

Day Six

(this is supposed to be dated Wednesday, May 23, 2012)

Wednesday, Day Six

I was going to get up at 5:30 to go to spin class, but I didn’t want to drive all the way there, spin, drive all the way back home to make my shake, and then drive back that way for work. Too much driving! So I stayed and slept in until 7am.

BUT I will say, at 5:30 when my first alarm went off, I was COMPLETELY rested.

When I finally woke up this morning, I wasn’t down a pound so that was frustrating. But yesterday I was down more than a pound so it kind of averaged out. I am still the lowest I have weighed in a long time - probably since marriage! I like the way I am looking. My arms look nice, I’ve lost a lot of chub, and my face is thinning out. And I feel pretty awesome! The only thing is I am a little … how do you say it nicely, stuffed up? Which I hear happens to some people when they increase their fiber intake. So I am increasing my water intake to balance it out. We will see how it goes!

I had my shake before I left for work. I am liking the shake more and more. It’s actually pretty good!

The last two days I forgot to take my natural accelerators. So I made SURE to take one this morning and bring one for lunch.

I will check back in later…

….And I forgot to check back in….

Let’s see… I had lunch at Panera. I might have had a few more calories than allowed. Oops! Then before small group I had my dinner shake. I was pretty hungry after small group. But I am getting used to being ok with the hunger feeling.

Day Five

Tuesday, Day 5 of the cleanse! Re-visiting Shake Days!

Woke up this morning feeling GREAT!  I was down another 1.5 pounds. So far, I have lost around 5 pounds since Friday. And many inches! I had energy and strength. I wasn’t light headed or nauseas. I drank my shake around 8:15. Caleb came up with a way to make them really fluffy. We put Isa fruits in it too. I think that helps with my energy levels. I am here at work and I am STUFFED from my shake. I couldn’t finish the last few drops because I was SO full. I think my stomach really shrank down the last two days.

Anyways, gotta get my work done. I will check back in after lunch!

…Just got back from Lunch. We had deli sandwiches at Which Wich. I realized, I am not the biggest fan of their sandwiches. But at least I stayed within my calories. I had a turkey sandwich on wheat bread with lettuce, mayo & avocado and some baked lays.  And of course WATER, WATER, WATER!

I have had a lot of energy today! I think I might to cardio-kick boxing after work.
This whole thing is getting easier and easier.
I’ve got to get back to work now. I will post again after my dinner shake. :)

… After work I went to the gym for Cardio Kick Boxing. That class is CRAZY! We burned over 700 calories in one class! I was surprised that I had the energy to do it while on a cleanse! My only set-back was getting light-headed during one of the exercises when we were facing down. The blood kept rushing to my head. Usually I power through – but last night I took it easy.

I got home around 7:45 and had my dinner shake shortly after. Caleb and I played video games until close to midnight. I went to bed feeling hungry. But I still slept like a baby!

Day Four

Today is Monday, DAY 4 of the cleanse.

If I didn’t explain it before, the cleanse is actually 11 days. The first two days are considered Pre-Cleanse Days. The next two days are technically the first two “cleanse” days. But as far as my blog is concerned, there are 11 days.

And today, day 4, is my second cleanse day.

I woke up feeling as strange as I did when I went to bed last night.

But alas, I had to go to work. I was down another pound and lost two inches around my hips!

Got up, got ready, had my drink around 8:00am, and left for work. I feel light headed, hungry, slightly nauseous, and still have the fuzzy brain. BUT I read up on these symptoms and they are all signs of detoxification! Which means the cleanse is working! I have to pee every five minutes!!!

It is now 12 pm, so it’s time for my 2nd cleanse drink of the day. I forgot my natural accelerator this morning and for lunch! I will make up for it later.

A huge plus to this whole thing… the cleanse drink tastes SO GOOD! It reminds me of Minute Maid’s pomegranate juice!
Ok. I will check back in later on.

By the way, I am already feeling better. AND I am SUPER excited to eat a meal again tomorrow!!!

… Ok so for my lunch break, which is at 1pm, my husband and I met up and went for a walk around the park. It was close to 90 degrees outside. But we had energy. He is handling all of this WAY better than I am. He has all kinds of energy.

I got back and had my Isa snacks and realized, I am not fuzzy brained anymore!

I actually started to feel really good again.

At 4pm I had another cleanse drink. Yummy! At 6pm I had two more Isa snacks. You are supposed to eat those on schedule.

I got home and my husband reminded me we had to go help one of our friends move a piano. I thought we would go and come right back, so I didn’t drink my cleanse drink. But the Piano was in Bellflower, 45 minutes away. So we hopped in the U-Haul and headed to Bellflower. The whole way there we talked about our food “Hit List.” It’s all the places we eventually want to hit once we can eat regularly again. (Not all at once of course. We are going to maintain healthy life styles) Just talking about it made me even more hungry.

We ended up being out until almost 11! So we took our last cleanse drink around 11:30 and then went to bed. Probably not the best way to do it.

I do have to say, I am so proud of Caleb! He was lacking energy after work but he got up to help the girls anyway. He ended up helping carry a super heavy piano onto the truck, off the truck and up a flight of stairs. And this is all after two days of no FOOD! I think Isa is giving him energy he didn’t know he had!

Day Two and Three

I didn’t post over the weekend… so here is the run down.

Friday night, I was feeling pretty hungry. Thankfully Caleb is doing the cleanse with me, so we keep each other strong. i had my shake but still went to bed hungry. But that was to be expected.

Saturday morning I woke up at 6:30 with a growling stomach and a headache. I went back to sleep until 9:30ish. I got up and tried to keep myself busy around the house. I had my breakfast shake around 10am. I think I lost one pound from the day before.

Around 1pm I woke my sleeping husband up and made him drink his shake so we could go get our lunch! I was SO hungry. We went to lunch around 2pm and we both had salads. Mine was comprised of lettuce, spinach, cucumbers, chicken, avocado, pecans, craisins, a bit of goat cheese and a couple croutons. It was pretty good. But a tip for beginners, you will want your last meal before your 2 cleanse days to fill you up a little more. I think my salad was a little too light. But that’s just me and my food loving self.

After that we went home and took it easy. I went to church that night for prayer and prophecy and was there for about 4 hours. My stomach was GROWLIN! I got home around 10:30 and had my last shake for a while. I went to bed feeling fine.

Sunday morning I woke up feeling GREAT! I was down another pound and a couple inches.  I had tons of energy, I wasn’t even really hungry. I had to be at church at 7:30 to serve so Caleb and I drank our first cleanse drinks at 7am. I was goin goin goin! I am the coffee team lead so I had to run everything and carry around a bunch of heavy stuff, unload inventory. I has TONS of energy to do it all!

At 9am I had my two isa snacks right on schedule.

We got out of church around 11 and went home and had our next cleanse drink around 12pm. I still felt great, but was tired from getting up so early, so I took QUITE a long nap. That’s normal for me though.

I woke up to drink my water (you have to drink at least 32 ounces between cleanse drinks) and had my snacks. Then at 4pm I had my next cleanse drink.

I was still feeling fine. Just a little hungry.

As the evening went on, my body started feeling weird. I started getting fuzzy brained and feeling nauseous. I had my last cleanse drink. Felt like I was going to throw it up. I went to bed around 9:30 without my last two isa snacks.

Nervous about DAY 2 of cleansing.

Day One

This first post should actually be dated 05/18/12. But I switched to a different blogging website.

Isagenix

Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;  you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.

Today I started Isagenix. Health and fitness are very important to me. They have been for a while now. Not only do I want to always look good for my husband, I want to practice healthy living as discipline for life. I want to take care of my body now, so I can be strong and beautiful for my children.

To me, my mom has always been young. Her youthfulness springs out of her spirit. She has always taken care of herself. In a very healthy way, she has always managed to stay fit. I want to have the energy she had (and still has) while I was growing up. I want to be active, I want to be pleasant. Most of all, I want to be ALIVE! She already had two kids by my age, so I am already behind!

Most importantly, I want to honor God with my body. Not just with what I do with it but also with what I put into it.  I want to be disciplined and strive for greatness. I love the Holy Spirit SO much! And this body is his dwelling place. Just like I go crazy cleaning the house when guests are coming to stay, I want to clean out my body so that it is spic and span for Him to stay! J

Today is DAY 1 of my Isagenix 9 day cleanse.

I woke up this morning so freaking excited! Around 7:30, before leaving for work, I took 1 natural accelerator pill and drank my meal replacement shake. The shake is made my mixing 8 ounces of water with 2 scoops of the Isa protein powder. It didn’t taste bad at all. However, I read that you are supposed to drink it quickly because it has active enzymes and they will die if you don’t drink within 20 minutes, rendering the drink less effective. The fact that I had to drink it so fast made me gag a couple of times. That is just how I am. My gag reflexes trigger easily. Other than that, everything went smoothly.

It’s now 11:20am and my stomach is a growlin! I think my body is just getting used to not being filled to the brim.

For Lunch I am supposed to take a natural accelerator and eat a meal that is 400-600 calories. So… I will check back in a couple of hours…

… I AM SO TIRED! I keep yawning every 5 seconds. Definitely feeling the lack of caffeine right now. But it’s good. I need to break my coffee/soda habit anyways.

I met up with Caleb for lunch. He is doing the cleanse too. We went to chipotle. I got a bowl with small portions of brown rice, black beans, bell peppers, chicken, guacamole, lettuce and an itty bitty amount of cheese. Pretty healthy right? I don’t know if I stayed within my calories, but I guess I will find out tomorrow when I weigh in.  We both drank water.

You are supposed to drink tons of water on this cleans. I am on my 8th cup of water today. I LOVE water!

How do I feel? Well I have a slight headache, I’m extremely tired and I’m hungry. BUT the first two are side effects from caffeine withdrawals. And the hungry part … well I’m on a cleanse. I didn’t expect much else.

I think I am going to buy a new blender after work today. My blender kind of sucks.

I can’t wait to get off work. I am getting a message with Nathalie. My eye has been twitching lately. I’m pretty stressed at work. So this will be good. A massage is definitely needed.
